Microsoft Teams Audio Conferencing On-net Dialing Feature with Teams Direct Routing

In Skype for Business On-premises the cost saving which the customers where able to gain in terms of Audio-Conferencing Calls being routed via on-net dialing there by saving the additional cost to be paid to the PSTN PRI/SIP carriers. Skype for Business On-premises also had an option to integrate the Third-Party Audio-Conferencing Provider with Skype for Business on-premises Meeting.


In Microsoft Teams the Audio-Conferencing Provider is Microsoft. Still with the latest release you cannot integrate the Third-Party Audio-Conferencing Provider with Microsoft Teams Meeting but Microsoft has opened the On-net Dialing Feature with Teams Direct Routing providing additional cost savings to the customers.


Now, in Preview, Microsoft Teams Audio Conferencing On-Networking allowing organizations to send inbound and outbound PSTN Audio Conferencing Calls to Microsoft Dial-In Numbers through Teams Direct Routing. Meaning that when the user dials the PSTN Audio Conferencing number traverses through the Teams Certified SBC on-net Dialing and does not incur additional cost from the PSTN PRI/SIP Carrier for the calls.
