How to Leave a Teams Tenant of a Guest Organization



There has been increase use of Microsoft Teams in the corporate organizations and since the start of CoVid-19 there has been a drastic surge in the usage of Microsoft Teams.

In case you are invited to join the other company’s organization as a Guest below is how your account would look like



There have been many people in the Microsoft Community asking the question how we can get rid of the Guest Access. So below are the steps for the same.

If the Guest Organization removes the account from the Tenant, it will not remove the option from the Microsoft Teams Client. For the deleting the same you need to perform the following steps: -

1.     Login to the URL
https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/r/#/profile

Below will be the Screen wherein we would be able to see the following options


2.     Click on Sign-In to Leave the Organization
You will be on the page for the Guest Org


3.     Click on the Profile Option on the Name


4.     Once you click on Profile you will get the option following option

5.     Click on the Option Leave the Organization. It will ask you for the confirmation once again. Click on Leave

6.     Post Leaving the Organization you should receive an email for the same via Office 365.

7.     Now restart the Teams Client and the Guest Option has now disappeared.
